Community Construction Liaison:
Reconstruction and Drainage Improvements for South Beach Area Streets, Staten Island, NY

$84M project consists of the improvement of 4.4 miles of streets and sidewalk to current NYCDOT standards, installation of a new storm sewer system, upgrading and replacing existing water mains and sanitary sewers. These improvements aim to reduce flooding, improve drainage, and allow the neighborhood to recover more quickly from major storm events. This project includes pile driving, street lighting and signage, traffic signal upgrades, concrete and asphalt concrete pavement. As the community liaison, Carrie's responsibilities include keeping the homeowners informed of all upcoming work to be performed. This is achieved through public meetings, door-to-door notifications, emails and phone calls. Additional notification is performed by distributing  newsletters and brochures. Carrie also acts as an intermediary between the residents and the contractor by registering complaints and providing property damage claim forms.

Reconstruction of the Hamilton Ave Bridge, Brooklyn, NY

This project involved the reconstruction of the Hamilton Ave Bridge across a major roadway over the Gowanus Canal. The construction mandated the coordination of three police precincts, two fire departments and two community boards, as well as the local businesses and residents of the Red Hook area.

 Reconstruction of 110th Street, Forest Hills, NY

This project involved the installation of new storm sewers, the replacement of outdated water main and the replacement of the current sanitary sewer system. This project encompassed a large geographical area with many homes, schools and businesses, as well as a large NYCHA facility. It was Carrie's responsibility to coordinate construction activities with all local businesses and residents the construction activities. Carrie also worked with the MTA to notify the community and commuters of closed and relocated bus stops. It was also important to keep the local Senior/Community center informed of construction activities affecting the access-a-ride program

Community Construction Liaison:
Construction of Sanitary and Storm Sewers, Water Mains, in Sheldon Avenue, Staten Island, NY

This $48M project involved the installation of over three miles of storm sewers, four miles of new sanitary sewers, hundreds of catch basins, replacement of existing water mains, and the largest expansion of the current Blue-Belt system. Carrie was responsible for notifying and updating the schools and homeowners of the pending work to be completed. Carrie was also responsible to register all complaints during the construction process.
